Frank Lapidus
Frank grew up in the Bronx in New York. He was supposed to be the original Oceanic Flight 815 pilot, but he was replaced by Seth Norris. The reason for his is still unknown. He later worked for a Caribbean tour company. He watched TV footage of the alleged Oceanic 815 plane at the bottom of the Sundra Trench, but realized that the alleged body of Seth Norris was a fake. He called the NTSB hotline to tell them this.
Frank was later recruited by Matthew Abaddon to be the pilot for the freighter crew he was putting together. Naomi didn't approve of this choice and called Frank a drunk.
Frank introduces himself to Michael, who is working undercover on the freighter. Frank tells Michael that the Oceanic plane at the bottom of the ocean is a fake.
Frank flies a helicopter to the island, but experiences electronic problems along the way and his team bails out. After Frank lands the helicopter he is approached by Jack and his team. Frank later watches Daniel conduct an experiment on the island. He then pilots, Sayid, Desmond and Naomi's body to the freighter. Frank flies Keamy and other mercenaries to the island, where they attack Ben and Othertown. When he later encounters Miles, Sawyer and Claire in the jungle, he warns them to hide from Keamy.
After returning to the freighter, Frank helps Michael and confronts him about being a passenger on Flight 815. Frank later flies Keamy and other mercenaries back to the island, after Keamy kills another crew member and the captain to incite Frank to help them. While flying overhead, Frank drops a satellite phone onto the island. After landing, Keamy handcuffs Frank to the helicopter, preventing him from escaping. He is later found by Jack and Sawyer, who free him.
Frank flies Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley and Sawyer (who jumps out of the helicopter) to the freighter and attempts to patch up the gas leak in the chopper. He takes off in the helicopter with Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun, Aaron and Desmond just before the freighter explodes. HE then watches the island disappear and is forced to land the helicopter in the water. The group is later rescued by Penny Widmore. As the Oceanic 6 prepare to set up a fake recuse, Frank and Jack say goodbye. Frank remains on Penny's boat along with Penny and Desmond.
