Elizabeth Mitchell

Elizabeth was born in Los Angeles, California in 1970. She moved to Dallas, Texas as a child and, after graduating from university, she worked for six years at the Dallas Theater Center.

In 1994 Elizabeth was cast in the TV series Loving. She later appeared in JAG, ER, Law & Order: SVU, Boston Legal and House. She has also appeared in films, such as Molly, Frequency, The Santa Clause 2 and Running Scared.

Elizabeth was cast as Juliet Burke in Lost in 2006.

Elizabeth is married with one young son.

Juliet Burke

Prior to arriving on the island, Juliet lived in Miami, Florida, while working for her ex-husband, Edmund Burke as a fertility specialist. During her research, Juliet performed fertility treatments on her sister, Rachel, who had gone through chemotherapy and who believed she would never become pregnant.

Juliet was approached by Richard Alpert from Mittelos Bioscience, who wanted to offer her a job. Juliet joked that her ex-husband would only let her go if he was hit by a bus, which he soon was. Rachel revealed to Juliet that she was now pregnant and Juliet agreed to take the job. Shortly thereafter, Rachel's cancer went into remission.

Juliet arrived unconscious aboard a submarine docked on the island. Over the next three years Juliet treated the pregnant women of the island, but each of them died before their babies were born. Juliet also started a relationship with a fellow Other, Goodwin. It is also revealed that Ben, the Others' leader, had a crush on Juliet, but she didn't return the feeling. Ben consistently refused to let her return home, even telling her that her sister's cancer had returned.

After the crash, it is apparent that Ben sends Goodwin to spy on the Tailies in an attempt to separate Goodwin and Juliet. Ben takes Juliet to the Flame station, where Mikhail monitors their connection to the outside world. Juliet sees her healthy sister playing with her young son and Ben still refuses to let Juliet leave.

After Goodwin is killed by Ana Lucia, Ben shows his corpse to Juliet, telling her "You're Mine". Juliet warns Ben that Walt is a special and dangerous child, but Ben dismisses her concerns.

Juliet attempts to befriend and interrogate Jack while he, Sawyer and Kate are being held hostage in Season 3. When Jack agrees to operate on Ben, Juliet secretly tells him to "accidentally" kill him. When Jack is rescued by his friends, Ben instructs Juliet to infiltrate the survivors' camp and collect information on Kate and other potentially pregnant women. Juliet confesses to Jack about her reason for joining him. Juliet tells the survivors about the Looking Glass station, which allows Desmond and Charlie to turn off the signal that is blocking the radio tower.

When the survivors split into two camps in Season 4, Juliet remains with Jack, hoping that the freighter crew will rescue them from the island. Jack and Juliet also kiss after encountering people from the freighter. Later, when one of the freighter crew is taking people from the island to the freighter to rescue them, Juliet elects to stay behind until everyone is saved. She later meets up with Sawyer on the beach and the two of them watch the freighter burn, believing that their friends were killed in the explosion, including Jack and Kate. She and Sawyer disappear when the island is moved.
